Only one team can claim it has knocked off Virginia in each of the past three seasons.

That team is Virginia Tech.

Tuesday night, the ninth-ranked Hokies renew their hoops rivalry at No. 4 Virginia as the teams face off in Charlottesville in the highest-ranked matchup in the series history.

Duke moves on following Jones' injury

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) No. 1 Duke has to figure out how to replace arguably its most irreplaceable player - point guard Tre Jones.

The strength of this Blue Devils team has been how neatly its four star freshmen fit into clearly defined roles. Zion Williamson makes headlines with his once-in-a-generation athleticism while RJ Barrett delivers consistent scoring and Cameron Reddish focuses on long-range shooting.

No. 19 Terps continue unexpected ascent

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) The most intriguing aspect of Maryland's unexpected ascent into the Top 25 is that the Terrapins have won in so many different ways - in spite of their youth.

During a six-game winning streak that's lifted Maryland into third place in the Big Ten, the 19th-ranked Terps (15-3, 6-1) have rallied from behind, blown big leads and prevailed even when their best players were held in check.

No. 7 Kansas holds on, beats Texas 80-78

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) Marcus Garrett has earned his spot in the Kansas starting lineup primarily with his defense.

His offense Monday night was merely a bonus.

McGowens has 30, Pitt upsets No. 11 FSU

PITTSBURGH (AP) Jeff Capel noticed the fearlessness in Trey McGowens, Xavier Johnson and Au'Diese Toney right away. The way they played, it was almost impossible to miss. Capel leaned on that inherent daring when he made his recruiting pitch to them last spring just days after taking over the rebuilding project at Pittsburgh.

Join me, Capel said. Let's bring the swagger back together.

Nebraska knocks off No. 25 Indiana 66-51

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) Nebraska found itself in the zone Monday night.

The No. 25 Indiana Hoosiers looked completely befuddled.

USC suspends G Porter Jr. indefinitely

LOS ANGELES (AP) Southern California guard Kevin Porter Jr. has been suspended indefinitely.

Coach Andy Enfield made the decision because of an unspecified conduct issue involving the freshman on the team's weekend trip to Oregon.

No. 19 Maryland holds off Wisconsin

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) Ranked again for the first time since early December, Maryland looked every bit like an AP Top 25 team against Wisconsin- for 30 minutes.

After that, not so much.

Duke still atop AP poll, top 10 stay put

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) Duke remained firmly entrenched at No. 1 for a fourth straight week in The Associated Press men's college basketball poll, which was enough to give its Hall of Fame coach another record.

The Blue Devils led an unchanged top 10 in Monday's AP Top 25 and spent their sixth week on top this season. That gave coach Mike Krzyzewski his 122nd week at No. 1 in the AP poll, breaking a tie with the late UCLA coach John Wooden for the most in poll history.

Johnson's status unclear for NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) North Carolina State coach Kevin Keatts isn't sure if the No. 17 Wolfpack will have starting point guard Markell Johnson for Tuesday's game at Wake Forest.

Keatts said Monday that Johnson will be a game-time decision after he took a hard fall during the weekend win against Pittsburgh. Keatts said Johnson's left hip and back were sore after the first-half fall, which sidelined him for the rest of Saturday's game.
